South Fork of Snake early season

April 2nd, 2021

The South Fork of the Snake is a great early season option.  Flows are low at 1,750 CFS, these will be rising over the next few days and weeks, but while it is on the low side, this big river can offer some great early season opportunities.  the Rainbows will start spawning soon and this will get the fish excited to eat.  There are a couple good wading access points at this low flow, but floating the river will allow more water to fish.  Be looking for fish podded up on riffles and runs eating small dries and a variety of nymphs, strip a streamer through the runs for larger and more aggressive fish.  We are offering guide trips on the South Fork, so give us a call to experience the early season madness!
