Snake River – South Fork

July 30th, 2011

This big river is looking good! The clarity is still the big issue, but the flows are perfect. They dropped it to just under 16,000 cfs, which is a prefect level, this allows for lots of riffles to form and for the fish to start stacking up looking for small mayflies. This level is also great for fishing because the river is within it’s banks which should allow the fish to find holding spots along the bank and be looking for some of those big tasty bugs. The South Fork should fish exceptionally well this year and we are really excited to see what develops over the next couple of days. It is time and could really pop any minute now – oh, wait, it just did!!! Go fishing!!!
