Hoback River-Entire Waterway

July 16th, 2010

The Hoback River is fishing very well and is extremely clear. Salmon Flies and Golden Stones have seemed to be the ticket, but that’s definitely not all they are eating. A variety of sizes in Parachute Adams or a smaller Fat Albert might be something to drop behind a salmon fly or golden stone pattern. Another good idea might be to have some streamers to throw in those deeper pools to try to catch some of the larger fish.

JJ Specials, Tequillys, and Cone Head Sculpins are some great streamers for the Hoback. Most of the fish have been in the 10 inch range, but we have pulled out a few 14-19 inch fish so far this season. Now is the time to get out there if you like throwing big dries!

Come stop by the shop and we will set you up with everything you need for a great day on the Hoback. And as always, feel free to call (307-733-6483) or email (info@westbank.com) us with any other questions you might have. I hope everyone gets a chance to get out there and rip some lips!
