I grew up in suburban Chicago and left for Madison, WI to go to school. Upon finishing undergrad, I continued in school with teacher certification/graduate education courses. In the fall of 2004 I moved to Jackson, the following spring I was exposed to fishing with a fly rod and I haven't put it down since. I grew up loving to fish and did so at every opportunity. This was unfortunately limited to vacations and fishing trips during college. Out west, trout fishing opportunities are unlimited. In 2006 I worked in Westbank Angler for the summer helping in the shop, selling flies, and talking fishing. The following spring I purchased a drift boat and set out to learn the areas waterways, as well as fine tune techniques that fool fish. In the summer of 2008 I began guiding for Westbank and have been ever since. I focus on fun, pride myself on teaching fly fishing to those new to the sport or less familiar with fly fishing on western rivers. Getting after it with those rods who know the drill is also a treat! Over the last 4 summers I have had enormous success and ever more fun teaching youngsters how to fly fish. If fact, I have had amazing success with kids as young as 5! It is no doubt nice being able to use some skills learned in my teaching background on the river. And what classroom! After well over 140 guided trips and countless other recreational outings my experience and enthusiasm have grow exponentially. Let's FISH!
