Snake River Report – Henry’s Fork

The Henry’s Fork, or North Fork of the Snake, is a world famous river that offers beginning and experienced anglers a great learning opportunity. The river has many different characteristics that test all skill levels.

This river is home to “The Box” and the legendary “Railroad Ranch.” Many anglers have stories of the big fish on the Ranch that they stalked for hours and couldn’t get to eat any thing they threw… until that day! And it is a day you will never forget. The Ranch opens June 15th and is an annual pilgrimage for anglers from all over the world.

Most of the rest of the river opens Memorial Day weekend and kicks off with the much anticipated salmon fly hatch. The fish love these giant stoneflies, as do the anglers! While the Ranch offers very technical fishing, the rest of the river has great wading and floating options for all anglers.
