The Green River
Located approximately an hour south of Jackson Hole, the Green is a much smaller river than the Snake, yet is ideal to fish out of a drift boat. This intimate river originates in the Wind River Mountain range and flows all the way through Wyoming until in enters Utah in the Flaming Gorge Reservoir.
The Green River flows through ranch land and sagebrush fields that is home to many moose, mule deer, antelope and birds of many species. It offers a variety of species of trout, including cutthroat, rainbow, the hybrid cutt-bow, brown and brook trout.
The season on the Green usually begins a month prior to the water clearing on the Snake, in mid-June.
