One of the more developed, and second largest island in landmass behind Andros, in the Bahamas, Abaco is a paradise for anyone. The Bight of Abaco and The Marls draw the flats angler to Abaco. The Marls lie on the west side of Abaco and is a series of mangrove lined cuts leading to some of the most productive flats in the area. The very soft bottom and the turtle grass make great habitat for small grass and snapping shrimp, which get the bonefish feeding like crazy. Smaller flies in size #4 and #6’s, with little to no weight are the most effective for the majority of Abaco’s flats.
