The day is upon us and the Ranch opens tomorrow. It appears the weather is going to be descent and I have already hearing rumblings about the party at Trout Hunter. Hopefully a few of the traditional hatches come off tomorrow so be prepared with PMD’s, Caddis and possibly a March Brown. For those of you that aren’t familiar with fishing on the Ranch fishing etiquette is a must. Remember to give people plenty of room and be careful while walking past someone to be cautious about putting down a feeding fish. We should get some reports about the opener tomorrow and will have a new fishing report posted soon. So keep in touch with us here at the shop if you have any questions.  For all of you fishermen that love fishing the Harriman’s Ranch in Island Park the days are counting down to the opener and you are one week away (June 15th). This year the opener comes on a Tuesday which could help alleviate some of the fishing pressure. Nevertheless for those dedicated Ranch fisherman who treat the opener like a holiday they will probably still find a way to be in their waders ready to fish  at day break. Like many rivers in the region the huge amounts of water are also affecting anglers in the Idaho region as well. However, most of the sections on the Henry’s Fork are still fishable and the Box Canyon seems to be your best bet for consistent fishing. The latest update from the other parts of the Henry’s Fork including the Ora Bridge downstream to the Chester is that the cold weather has particularly affected the dry fly fishing. This recent weather has slowed down some of the fishing and many of the traditional hatches for this time of year have not been as prolific has they have been in years past. Hopefully some warm weather is coming soon and the opener on the ranch will be a success. Keep checking the fishing reports for any new updates. Good Fishin Matt Elliottmore...
