Thats why they call it fishing

That’s why they call it fishing

We really might get skunked.  That was the sentiment as fellow Westbank Guide Patrick Sheehy and I looked down the boat ramp into the Green River.  The water was high with run-off and as brown as our morning cups of joe. With the exception of a boat of spin-fisherman, no one else had the courage (or stupidity) to fish under these conditions.  Even the shuttle driver thought we were nuts.

Fortunately, a day that began with dashed hopes ended up being a lesson in persistence and commitment.  We didn’t beat ‘em up by any stretch, but we found a dozen or so willing trout, a few of which were heavy-bodied, enthusiastic browns, including a 23-rocket that ate my streamer so close to the bank that he might have been on his way to the Daniel Store for a corn dog.

I’ll let the pictures take it from here.
